Time is a key ingredient in starting anything. The idea with lean or slow projects is that it makes sustainable what used to be an all or nothing principle. We can now, through shared learning’s, run and experiment with a business in (essentially) our spare time by being focused and fastidious with what it is that we are spending out time working on. The idea of #leanstartup is a powerful one, in the same way that Paul Graham describes how different computer languages are more powerful than others. They save time, making getting things complete much easier.
This blog has no different. I’ve been blogging now for 3 years. That in itself is something I never thought I would be able to say. 3 years! And, I’m really excited to be able to say now, after that long, that this blog will be getting a redesign. Today, I have launched a 99Designs project – where I’m asking for people to design the new template for this blog. If you know anyone, or you yourself want to give it a bash, check out the brief.
Thanks to everyone who has been a reader, a commenter, a fan or an evangelist these last three years – you’ve made it doable and kept me motivated. And in the end, that’s all it takes to do something you’re proud of. Just getting started, keeping it sustainable, and letting time work its magic.
I wonder what other currencies could you give besides money.
There is a lot of other value in the steve hopkins brain.
